Rose curtains

I dont really know what to call these so I'll just go with 'rose curtains'. I've this design around quite a bit and I've wanted to recreate it for ages, so I decided to do so in line with an exciting project I have lined up. If it all works out you'll see in a couple of months! I'm not going to write much because I want to go to bed, so enjoy!

The base colour is Barry M - Lychee, and the black is China Glaze - Liquid Leather, the pink is Barry M - Bright Pink and Barry M - Passion Fruit, and the green is Clinque - Hula Skirt

What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

Nudey drips

Oh what's that? More matte nails? Of course! I couldn't resist, I'm sorry, but I did originally do these shiny (technical terms) and didn't really like how the photos came out unfortunately, so I added matte and now they look awesome-r (duh). I love these cartoon drips, I see them everywhere so unfortunately I dont know who they originated from, if you know let me know and I'll give correct credit!

For the base I used OPI - Did you 'ear about Van Gogh, and then using a dotting tool I put on Barry M -Berry and China Glaze - For Audrey, later outlined and highlighted in acrylic paint.

Do you think I should have kept them shiny or is my neverending use of matte as awesome as I see it to be (hint hint)? Alice

Feather Tutorial

So after I posted these feather nails the other day I had loads of requests to do a tutorial for them. I'm really happy that you guys are asking me for tutorials because a) I like doing them and b) it means I must be doing something right. So I hope you like this one! More after the jump

Step 1: Apply your base colour, I'm using 'Slate Grey' by Models Own

Step 2: Using a small thin brush (like the one pictured above) and white acrylic paint, draw lines for the centre of your feathers

Step 3: Using the same brush and acrylic paint, put a small amount of acrylic paint on your brush, using a light flicking motion work your way out from the centre of the feather, this will also allow any excess paint to blend into the 'stem' of the feather rather than clogging up the design. Be gentle and repeat this for all of your lines.

Step 4: Clean up using an old paintbrush and acetone and then apply your topcoat, I used Seche Vite.

I hope you enjoyed this, let me know if you try it out (if you're on Tumblr I track the tag 'onenailtorulethemall') and let me know if you want to see any other tutorials :)

Subtle feather nails

I got the inspiration for these nails from Kayla Shevonne when she did feather nails a few weeks ago. I loved the idea and decided to recreate it myself and it's so easy to do!

I think I'll definitely be experimenting with different colours in the future for something a bit more bold, these are very subtle. Unfortunately, in person they were barely noticeable and I like nails that stand out a bit more. They're perfect for blogging though so I hope you like them!
