Born Pretty Matte Polish Review

Hello Everyone!
I have another Born Pretty review for you today.

This time I tried Barbaric (B) Girl Matte Nail Polishes seen below.

The set comes with three 12ml matte polishes for $7.99. They offer two different color sets, one seen above and another consisting of white, black and red (also matte) or individual polishes for $4.36.

Onto the swatches we go.

First I have the pink polish. It was pretty bright, almost neon.

The formula on this one was great. Very easy to apply and dried very quickly. I did use three coats for this swatch but two was definitely do-able.

Next is the blue polish

The formula on this one was more disappointing. This polish was much thicker than the other two. I think it was partly because of the brush though. It was kind of wonky and it made it hard to apply, hence the bumps. This swatch used two coats .

Lastly I have the yellow polish

This polish, like the pink, had a great formula. Easy to work with and dried quickly. This swatch used three thin coats.

Overall I really liked these polishes. They definitely dried matte - like they are supposed to, not a satin finish.
I'm hoping the formula on the blue polish was just a fluke.

Born Pretty Tribal Texture Polish Review

It's that time again! Born Pretty review time!

This time I am reviewing the Tribal Texture/Liquid Sand Nail Polish!

I chose the #11 color option. They actually have four different color options to choose from.
Included with the polish you actually receive nail polish remover pads as well.

They smell amazing! I was really impressed. They aren't the best at removing polish but they do contain a lot of oil that made my cuticles nice. I think they'd be good for when you don't have a lot of polish to remove but want to moisturize your cuticles.

Now onto the polish itself!

First up I have the silver polish.

I really liked this polish. They all applied very nicely, this one was no different. I used two coats for this swatch. This polish is very similar to OPI Solitaire, so if you're looking for a cheaper alternative, Born Pretty is the place to go.

Next I have the pink polish.

So pretty!

Again, very nice application. I used 2 coats for this swatch as well. This is also a pretty close dupe to OPI Pussy Galore, so again, cheaper alternative!

Third is the light blue polish.

Love this one!

It's kind of a frosty blue color. Again, two coats for this swatch.

Lastly I have the dark blue polish, my favorite of the bunch!

Look how amazing that is!

This was also two coats.

Overall I was very impressed by these polishes! I've never tried any of the new texture polishes so this was a pleasant surprise. All polishes had wonderful formulas, not too thick and dried very quickly. Plus what's good about texture polishes is no topcoat needed! Keep in mind that these polishes are only 6ml, so mini polishes, but you can't beat the price of $4.99 The polish remover is an added bonus too!

Born Pretty Review- Holographic Nail Polish #8

Hello! I have another Born Pretty review for you!
This time I will be reviewing one of their new Holographic Nail Polishes.

Specifics:
The polish can be found here.
It's color #8, kind of a light blue turquoise color.
I believe it is classified as a "linear" holo.
It is 6 ml in size.

S W A T C H E S :

First I want to show you what it looked like layer by layer. Here's a picture of the first coat.
(My pointer and ring finger have a coat of Essie "Bobbing for Baubles" underneath"

As you can see, my nail line is visible, but I honestly wouldn't expect it to cover in one coat anyway.

Second coat:

The second coat definitely made it more opaque. I ended up doing three coats on all the nails, two coats might have worked but I wanted the holo to be real strong.

Here's with three coats and a top coat. Adding top coat didn't really have any effect, the holo was just as strong.

These pictures were taken in my lightbox, the holo is even better in sunlight.
(Pictures further down)
The next few photos were taken in the dark with the flash on my phone.

Usually I don't use the flash but these pictures looked so cool and it really shows how sparkly they are.

Formula & Application:
The formula on this polish was very nice! I had zero problems applying it. The brush was a bit hard to use because of how small it was but definitely not a major problem. Again, it needed two to three coats. No issues with the smell. Drying time was also very fast, I was very surprised.

The last few pictures were taken in the sunlight.

It was so shiny and sparkly in the sun! So fun to look at!

If I haven't sold you yet, here's a quick video I uploaded on my Instagram showing the holographic-ness in action.

Overall:
In all, I was very impressed by this polish. I would definitely say it is comparable to Color Club's Holographic Polishes. Born Pretty definitely has an advantage in the color selection with twelve awesome shades to choose from. I had no issues with the polish at all, everything went very smoothly. In the shade or inside, the holo isn't as strong but it's still visible. (Definitely not an issue because the other holos I have look very dull inside.) The only issue I have with this is the size. Being only 6 ml it's basically a mini polish. For me, this isn't much of an issue because I don't use any one polish too often.

Born Pretty Sweet Color Nail Polish Review

It's that time again!
Born Pretty review time!

This time I received Sweet Color Nail Polish.

I've been wanting to try a polish from Born Pretty for a while now since I usually pick decorations. The color I chose was S207. They have numbers rather than names.

To be honest, at first I was very confused because the polish I received (pictured above) looked much more neon and dark than what I thought I chose. But I understand now because the polish is somewhat hard to photograph.

I used natural light from outside in these pictures.

The color came out different in most of the pictures I took. It's kind of a dark neon green. It's not nearly as light as it looks in the pictures.

APPLICATION:

This polish is almost a jelly but not quite. The application was so smooth and it was very nice to apply. I didn't have any issues with the brush, it's wide and works nicely. I think you could get by with two coats, but I painted three thin coats just to be sure. Topcoat evened it all out and it honestly looked great after I applied topcoat. So smooth and shiny!
Also, it dried pretty quickly, no problems there.

SIZE:

As you can see, the bottle says it is 12 ML. I believe the average polish contains 15 ML but it's not a huge difference. I never go through a whole bottle of polish anyway.

OTHER DETAILS:

On the site it says that the polish is "Eco-Friendly." I'm not quite sure what that means but I'll take their word for it. I'm not quite sure if this polish is 3-free. The smell wasn't too bad, I didn't really notice while I was painting. Also, although it looks like it, this polish does not stain! Definitely an added bonus.

Being me, I couldn't leave the nails plain.

I hand painted these mustaches on with acrylic paint.

The color of the polish is more accurate in these pictures.

The inspiration for the mustaches came from a bow that was sitting on my desk while I was painting.

OVERALL:

In all, I was really impressed by this polish. I've never used this brand before and the application was great. The only disappointment here would be the difficulty photographing this polish, but that's typical with neon type polishes. Drying time was great and my nails were so shiny!

Right now the polish is $6.14.
They have a large range of different colors available as well.
