Barry M Sequin Nail Effects Review
Hey everyone! Today I have a review of the new Barry M Sequin Nail Effects which will be released on the 8th May on 'Hot Spots' aka the top shelf, and then on the 5th June in Superdrug and 12th June in Boots. To my surprise these polishes are textured, which I know is very in this year, but I'm not exactly sure it suits these, read on to find out more.
As always the pictures and review will be after the jump!
First up is Sequin Nail Effects Pink*, this was 2 coats. I wont say 'easy' coats because you do have to do a bit of placement both of the polish and of the glitter, but overall it's pretty opaque. On my fore and ring fingers I have 2 coats of Seche Vite to show you what it looks with and without top coat, I definitely prefer it with but that's up to you!
Next up is my least favourite of the 3 polishes, Sequin Nail Effects Black*, when I saw the press release for these I was expecting this to be a lot like their 'Gold Mine Glitter' but with bigger glitter, because I didn't realise they were textured. But unfortunately, this reminds me a lot of tar. Again, this is personal preference, and you might love it! This again is 2 coats but this time I only put one coat of Seche Vite on my fore and ring fingers, and I think perhaps 2 would have made me like it more.
As you can see, I failed miserably with glitter placement on my ring finger
Finally is my favourite of the three, Sequin Nail Effects White*, which has been compared to China Glaze - It's a Trap-eze, and I have a comparison swatch for you. This was 2 coats again with 2 coats of Seche Vite on the ring and forefingers.
As you can see they're very different, I can see why they have been compared but there is a lot more variety in the glitter side in It's a Trap-eze and it's not textured like the Barry M one.
Overall, I give these 7/10, they're staying on trend with the textured effect, however I think they could have been a bit thinner, I found the formula a bit thick to work with. I really like the white and pink ones but the black one is not for me, except perhaps with 2 coats of top coat. However I have heard that it is slightly easier to manage over a coat of black polish.
I would recommend getting at least one of these polishes to try out because they're really unique. These will be released on the 8th May on 'Hot Spots' aka the top shelf, and then on the 5th June in Superdrug and 12th June in Boots and will be priced at £3.99
